By default Windows Operating System will hide some important files from the view to keep uses from deleting or modify such files.
To Enable Show Hidden Files and Folders follow the steps
1. Open "Folder Options"
For Windows XP, Open any folder and Click on the Tools and select Folder Options from the
menu bar
For Windows 7 and Vista, click on the Organize button in any folder, and then select “Folder and
Search Options” from the menu.

For Windows 7 and Vista, click on the Organize button in any folder, and then select “Folder and
Search Options” from the menu.
2. Click the View tab, and then you should select “Show hidden files and folders” in the list.
3. Remove the checkbox from "Hide extensions for known files types" and “Hide protected
